"Frosty the Snowman"

For those of you who follow the weather, you may have noticed our part of the world got a whopper of a fall storm. We got about 9 1/2 inches here. Billings MT got 22 inches of wet, gorgeous white snow. Now, we expect this stuff in a month or so. This came a little early - but we'll take all the moisture the good Lord wants to send!

James wanted to put up the Christmas tree and immediately make a snowman. After some explaining, he settled for a snowman - carrot nose and all. The funny part was that it ended up on my front deck - not on the lawn as I would think. Wouldn't you like to wake up to this on your front deck?
Chrissy added to the joy by playing "Frosty the Snowman" many times on the piano. A true winterwonderland. Keep in mind - not all farmers are thrilled. The beans weren't out yet and sugar beets are still waiting harvest. So, as we do around here - we put our prayers in for some warmer and drier month so the fields can get finished if possible. I've learned that that is life in farming country - pray for rain, pray for sun, pray for rain, pray for sun....... Thank goodness the Lord understands these faithful farmers!

how does "gorgeous" go with "snow"?

isn't that an oxymoron?

Wow! That's early!

(Great looking snowman BTW)

I guess it's only "gorgeous" when we have been in a severe drought and begging for ANY water for years. Literally, it has been a drought for 9 years! There were a few summers where there was NO rain. The saddest thing to see was the year the crops made it until August and then had to let them dry up and shrivel in the ground because of no rain or water in the reservoirs. Fields of beans and sugar beets dead in the fields. It brings a tear. I don't know why the Mormons made farming in the desert - but they did. It makes more sense in the wet, humid areas.
Wow, let it snow!!!! It is beautiful, but I know the farmers and ranchers need to get their things done. At least the kids had fun, and enjoyed it. Your pears look so yummy. Good Job!!!!
