Family Adventure

Our family went camping for a night the week before school started. You know, the last FUN before we hit the books again. Robin and Alice came with us and brought their 4 wheelers (thank you!) and that added to the list of things we could do. The weather was gorgeous and we truly had FUN! Grandpa Robin provided us with a great FHE lesson and Grandma Alice had all the stuff for smores around the campfire. We packed the car, tent trailer, and fishing pole and boy, was it fun! Justin and the fish. Notice the mosquito bite on his cheek too. The mosquitos were out in full force, as well as the bees. Justin was trooper and helped out with gutting the fish. James was jealous but he thought catching the fish was fun too.
Wade brought the croquet set. Chrissy took it upon herself to teach William the art. The balls were all around the camp and Will found a few other things he could hit with the mallet - but it was fun to give the game a try. One meal, William was sitting and starting to eat when a bee flew onto his plate, but he didn't know it. Will went to grab a chip and the bee started to move on the plate. William wailed and screamed like nothing before! It really scared him. We had a hard time getting him to sit and eat after that - those bees wouldn't leave us alone!

Swimming had to be the biggest hit. This creek was clear and so much fun swim for the kids. It had the perfect swimming hole to spend the hot afternoon in.

This is one of those pictures that kind of tells the story without any words - but....James caught a fish (or at least helped catch one!). He looks like a true orphan when we are camping. I usually bring plenty of clothes to help but this time it was James' clothes that got left behind! UGH! We all pitched in to help him have a grand time in whatever clothes we could find. What an adventure!
I found a chokecherry tree by the creek that was ripe and ready for picking. Wade helped me fill a bag and so when I actually get the jelly in the jars we can remember this trip for a long time. I was so please the kids tried so hard to make this a fun and great family trip. Thanks kids!
